Konkan Kapila (Konkan Gidda) is a local cow breed in the hilly region and Konkan area. To conserve this neglected breed and for research purposes, we have founded ShivaSamartha Konkan Kapila Goshala and Research Organisation in our own farm at the village, Amba. This is a registered organisation.
Various projects taken up by this Goshala
1. We are going to raise and take care of Indian bovine breeds and take up research about these indigenous breeds. Under this project, we are going to produce purebred milch cows, purebred bulls and make them available for the farmers.
2. Production and sale of cow milk and cow ghee.
3. Production of Jeevamrut, solidified Jeevamrut, dhashaparni extract, vermiculture from the cow urine and cow dung and sale of the same.
4. Production and sale of dhoop, agnihotra dhoop, agnihotra cow dung cakes, cow dung soap and gonyle.
5. Production and sale of purebred calves and bulls.
6. Training sessions for farmers groups and women self help groups, promotion of latest technology in the agriculture and husbandry sectors.
You are welcome to join various projects of our Goshala. You can donate cows and also donate funds for fodder and animal feed. With your contribution, we can save the Konkan Kapila cow breed which is on the verge of extinction. Your help will enable us to bring this pure cow breed to the farmers faster.
